Bay of Islands

Spend most of the day exploring the Bay of Islands aboard "The Rock," enjoying the white-sand beaches, snorkeling, hiking and soaking up the southern-hemisphere sunshine. The evening is time to relax, take a walk along the beach, and enjoy the stars.

Thursday, December 20

Proposed Schedule

5:00pm Return from "The Rock" cruise

6:00pm Hotel

Day Two on "The Rock"

Waking up on the sea to a stunning sunrise. Breakfast is at 8 to 8.30. Then we're off to explore through the Islands. We choose locations of historic & cultural significance, awesome scenery, the best beaches & clear lagoons. From these locations you can kayak, snorkel, gather fresh sea food, explore W.W.2 war remains, trek across Islands & visit ancient Maori fortifications.

Chill out for lunch on a Island beach, maybe a game of beach volleyball - soccer.

Try a remote Island trek, a cave drop, sea kayaking or just explore the islands at your own pace.

We regularly see wild dolphins, penguins, schooling fish, endangered dotterels, diving ganets & pectrels, seals, orca, sharks & rays.

Join our snorkeling tour & explore lagoons, subtropical kelp gardens & mussel beds. We often see moray eels, big rays, octopus, & lots of fish. (Masks & snorkels free, wetsuits & full kits for a small extra charge.)
